Inside Geraldton Brickworks

August 17 @ 11:45 - 12:45

Free
Secret Spaces - Brickworks

Get behind the scenes of one of the last of the manually operated Brickworks in Australia.

With the first clay bricks handmade and fired on site in 1929 in a temporary kiln established by the Calligaro family, Geraldton Brick is Western Australia’s oldest clay brick manufacturer that is still operational.

These days Geraldton Brick is owned by Geraldton born and raised Mark Blayney, with clay bricks and pavers now being supplied not just locally but throughout all of Western Australia, Nationally and to a healthy International export market.

This tour is timed to occur just after the Secrets of Spelt cooking at the Bootenal, so that attendees can tour the brickworks whilst their tarts are cooking then head back to Boot afterwards to enjoy a drink and tart.
