Event: Computing for Connected Future: SKA, the Cloud and a Smart Mid West
MON 18TH AUG 6:15 PM – 8:30 PM, POSH EVENTS AND FUNCTIONS 214 MARINE TCE, GERALDTON, WA
Details: Unbeknown to many locals, the Mid West region is a hub of computing and communications technologies that do not exist anywhere else in the world.
Currently or soon, Geraldton will have:
- The largest science experiment in the known universe, located 370 km to the North East of Geraldton,
- Amongst the highest density of Broadband equipped telephone exchanges in regional Australia,
- WA’s largest and first dedicated commercial data centre outside of Perth,
- Data collection and communication connections that will need the equivalent of 100,000,000 home computers in computing power,
And many more government and business projects and programs to mean this region can lead the world.
In this one-off FREE event on Monday the 18th August, you can learn from and talk with remarkable researchers, scientists and expert guests for an evening discussing the amazing computing power on the marvels of the SKA, Cloud Computing, NBN and our collective Digital future.
